Washington House - Beer vs Wine DinnerOn Tuesday, August 12, 6:00 p.m., the Washington House Restaurant, 136 North Main Street, Sellersville, Pennsylvania, will host a special beer vs. wine tasting dinner, featuring four delicious food courses, each paired with a complementary wine and beer.

Rob Reese of Vintage Wines and Spirits and Dominic Capece of Free Will Brewing of Perkasie will provide commentary about the selections and also lead the group discussion

First Course: Crispy Calamari with Edamame, Pea Shoots, Baby Bok Choy & Red Leaf Lettuce, Rice Wine Vinaigrette; Beer Selection: Free Will Danae, ABV 7.9%, Spicy, dry & crisp with intense fruity hop notes of pine & citrus; Wine Selection: Three Pears Pinot Gris, ABV 13%, Nectarous pears, peaches & apples in a rich mouth feel

Second Course: Marinated Pork Loin with Orange Scallion BBQ Sauce, Toasted Red Quinoa with Corn & Asparagus; Beer Selection: Free Will Wit, ABV 5.7%, Spiced with orange, lemon, coriander & white pepper; Wine Selection: Vina Real Rioja Crianza, ABV 13.5%; Ripe cherries & raspberries over a fine toasty vanilla complexity

Third Course: Garam Masala rubbed Lamb T-Bones or Cornish hen with Mint Chutney Yogurt & Basmati Rice; Beer Selection: Free Will Techno, ABV 7.3%, Fruit flavors of melons, tangerines & grapefruit with lingering bitterness; Wine Selection: Château Cayran Châteauneuf du Pape, ABV 13%, Warm with black fruit, leather, cinnamon & clove

Dessert Course: Grilled Peach Shortbread with Mascarpone Cream; Beer Selection: Free Will Peach Lambic, ABV 4.9%, Bitter peach fizz on the tongue with a slight sour taste; Wine Selection: Domaine Guillaman Frisson D’Automne, ABV 12.5%, Apricot, honey and exotic fruit preserves

The cost of the beer vs. wine tasting dinner is $59.00 per person (plus tax & gratuity).
