On Saturday, December 6, all five locations of Di Bruno Bros. will host a festive Holiday Cheese Crawl, replete with free food & drink samples – a perfect way to get to know their delicious seasonal offerings and gather great ideas for holiday entertaining direct from their cheesemongers… And, as a final celebration of their 75th anniversary, they will also be giving away $1,939 in prizes (reflecting their first year in business) throughout the holiday season, including a $1,000.00 shopping spree, for customers who share their holiday traditions on social media or enter online at www.dibruno.com/traditions.
The Holiday Cheese Crawl will take place on Saturday, December 6, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. Each location (Rittenhouse Square, Washington Square West at the Franklin Market, at the Market & Shops at the Comcast Center, at the original store along 9th Street in Philadelphia’s Italian Market, and in nearby Ardmore, PA) will feature different free food and drink pairings, and guests who visit will receive a “Di Bruno Bros. Cheese Crawl Map” that will be stamped by each location they visit.
Cheese lovers are encouraged to visit any two Di Bruno Bros. locations, plus the Franklin (3 total); those who do will earn an exclusively printed, complimentary tote bag with product samples, the Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese book and other Di Bruno Bros. swag. All crawls must end at The Franklin in order to receive the swag bag.
Rittenhouse Square (1730 Chestnut Street, 215-665-9220): Sample panettone French toast paired with upscale, adults-only eggnog and selected snacks from Tradestone Confections. The French toast will be prepared with Di Bruno Bros.’ own Private Collection Panettone, a buttery, fluffy loaf that is studded with savory raisins soaked in premium orange liqueur. The family-size loaf is $24.99 and only available during the holiday season while supplies last.
The Italian Market (930 South 9th Street, 215-922-2876): Visit the iconic Italian Market 9th Street Di Bruno Bros. to sample Colston Bassett Stilton cheese paired with port while an accordion player performs live. Guests will also be treated to a demo from ReAnimator coffee.
Ardmore Farmers Market (120 Coulter Avenue, 484-416-3311): Sample Tonewood maple syrup paired with Comté cheese along with Troegs’ legendary Mad Elf holiday beer. Vera Pasta will also be on hand with samples, along with Éclat’s artisanal chocolates & caramels.
The Comcast Center (1701 JFK Boulevard, 215-531-5666): Sample Torrone’s classic Italian nougat and spiked hot apple cider (with virgin versions available for children), along with Little Baby’s ice cream and Alpine cheese.
The Franklin (834 Chestnut Street, 267-519-3115): Sample pizzelles, a traditional Italian waffle cookie that hails from Italy’s Abruzzo region, while pastry cooks from Drexel University’s Culinary Arts & Food Science Department erect a gorgeous holiday Pizzelle House from the cookies, which will be on display all season long. Guests will also enjoy hot toddies and selected snacks from Poco Dolce chocolates and Dumangin jellies. The Franklin is the only mandatory stop on the cheese crawl; all participants must end their cheesy adventure here to receive their swag bag.
