On Sunday, May 14, 2017, Olivella Restaurant, 7709 Bergenline Avenue, North Bergen, New Jersey, will be celebrating Mother’s Day with a special four-course prix-fixe menu.
Chef Salvatore Olivella begins with a choice of antipasti: Burratina al Prosciutto, burrata and prosciutto di Parma in a glazed balsamic reduction; Polpette della Nonna, housemade meatballs in ragu sauce with focaccia crust covering the crock pot holding the dish (pictured); Sushi di Parma, house-made fior di latte cheese wrapped in prosciutto di San Daniele; and Cozze al Amalfi Coast, Prince Edward Island mussels sautéed with shallots, white wine, pepperoncino and Pachino cherry tomatoes. Guests will then have a choice of salad including Olivella Salad, Popeye Salad and Rugoletta Salad. For the third course, Chef Salvatore features his Farfalle di Olivella, bowtie pasta sautéed with smoked Norwegian salmon, shallots and a touch of salmon caviar; Veal Piccata, veal scallopine, capers and lemon in a white wine sauce; Polipo di Olivella, grilled octopus served with saffron potatoes, fresh mint, red onions and grape tomato salad; Filet Mignon al Barolo with porcini mushrooms in a wine reduction; and a seafood feast Linguine Frutti di Mare with mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops and lobster in a light tomato sauce. Mom will end her delicious Mother’s Day feast with a traditional Neapolitan dessert.
The cost of the special prix-fixe Mother’s Day menu is $55.00 per person (plus beverages, tax & gratuity). Children under 12 will get their own pizza, pasta, soda, and gelato ($25.00).
