Mercersburg Inn Hosts “Wines and Food of Chile and Argentina”

Mercersburg Inn - Wine & Food Weekends 2On Saturday, September 23, 2017, one of my favorite haunts, the Mercersburg Inn, 405 South Main Street, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, will host another in its popular series of International Wines and Food Weekends: “Wines and Food of Chile and Argentina.”

At 5:00 p.m. there will be a wine tasting and educational session – featuring 6 wines – with host John Peters. At 8:00 p.m., the Inn’s chef, Dan Nowalk, a charter member of the Pennsylvania Culinary Society, will delight guests with a 5-course dinner with wine pairings specifically chosen by Mr. Peters.

Timbale de Quinoa: Nutty Grain Salad with Sweet Corn, Avocado, and Cilantro with Sherry Vinaigrette

Empanadas: Fried Pastry filled with Braised Beef Shin, Green Olives, and Hard Cooked Eggs

Scallop Crudo: in a Lime Vinaigrette with Melon, Radish, and Celery Leaf Salad

Matambre: Spit Roasted Flank Steak with Chimichurri

Alfajores: Soft Cookie Confections filled with Caramel and garnished with Chocolate Sauce

Coffee/Tea
