William Penn Inn Hosts Autumn Epicurean Adventure

William Penn Inn - ExteriorOn Friday evening, October 20, 2017, the Commonwealth Club at the William Penn Inn, 1017 Dekalb Pike, Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, will host a special gourmet dinner, accepting seating reservations from 6: 30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. A three-ounce serving of wine per course is also included with the dinner (subsequent servings of wine are available for an additional charge).

The complete menu and wine accompaniments are noted below…

Cold Appetizer – Foie Gras “Knish”: With sour cherry and quince compote, 25-year-old balsamic cipollini marmalade and hazelnut dust; Wine Accompaniment: Domaine de Clovallon, Pinot Noir, Languedoc, France, 2015

Pasta – Maine Lobster Tagliatelle: Saffron pasta, roasted lobster mushrooms with a basil verbena-infused lobster “gravy”; Wine Accompaniment: Tom Gore, Chardonnay, Sonoma, California, 2015

Intermezzo – Pink Grapefruit & Campari

Entrées (Choice of) – “Overnight Tender” Short Ribs: Dry-aged boneless short ribs accompanied by port wine syrup, crispy leeks, braised root vegetables, Yukon gold pommes purée; Wine Accompaniment: Cooper & Thief Cellarmasters, Red Wine Blend, California, 2014… Loup de Mer: Pan-seared bronzino with a chive beurre blanc, braised beluga lentils, Provençal squash and caramelized eggplant aioli; Wine Accompaniment: Bruna Grimaldi Langhe Arneis, Piedmont, Italy, 2015… Wild Boar Chop: Grilled wild boar chop teamed with Calvados-infused glace de porc, boar bratwurst, juniper red cabbage, sautéed arugula spaetzle; Wine Accompaniment: Domaine Raspali-Ay Gigondas, Rhone, France, 2014

Salade – Croque Monsieur: Rustic country bread, Black Forest ham and Gruyère Mornay, accompanied by frisée and baby mesclun in a Dijon mustard & Champagne vinaigrette with red onions, golden beets, French pickles

Dessert – Green Tea Mille Feuille: Inn-made green tea puff pastry layered with honey-infused vanilla crème, pomegranate curd and passion fruit pâté de fruit; paired with green tea ice cream and pomegranate honey coulis; Wine Accompaniment: Camin Larredya La Part Davan Sec, Jurancon, France, 2013

A selection of after dinner cordials will be offered from the restaurant’s tableside cart at the conclusion of dinner.
