On Thursday, January 25, 2018, 6:30 p.m. the Frog and the Peach in New Brunswick, New Jersey, will host a special “Maine Meets Belgium” beer dinner. Featured will be five courses of comfort food from Maine and Belgium paired with Belgian-inspired beers from the Allagash Brewing Company of Portland, Maine.
Rutabaga and Parsnip Salad: Smoked Grains, Kale, Blue Brie, Mustard; Brew Pairing: Allagash Saison (Rustic Belgian farmhouse-style ale. Citrus and peppery spice precede a dry, thirst-quenching finish. 6.1% ABV).
Maine Oyster and Mussel Chowder: Guanciale, Leeks, Brown Bread; Brew Pairing: Allagash Hoppy Table Beer (Hop-forward, sessionable Belgian-style ale with notes of pine, citrus, and stone fruit. 4.8% ABV).
Lobster Roll; Brew Pairing: Allagash White (A hazy Belgina-style wheat beer with balanced citrus and spice. Brewed with wheat, coriander, and Curaçao orange peel. 5.2% ABV.
Spicy Duck Sausage: Belgian-Style Stamppot; Brew Pairing: Allagash Tripel (Belgian-style golden ale. Aromas of passion fruit and herbs accompany a complex finish. 9% ABV).
Chocolate Whoopie Pie: Espresso, Chicory, Bourbon; Brew Pairing: Allagash St. Klippenstein (A roasty bourbon barrel-aged Belgian-style strong stout laced with flavors of vanilla and oak. 11% ABV).
