Chef Dennis Foy Opens Cafe Loret

Cafe Loret- Dining RoomAcclaimed Chef Dennis Foy is a culinary legend among New Jersey diners. In the late ‘70s, his Tarragon Tree in Chatham garnered national recognition for planting the seed for the current farm-to-fine dining movement. After a stint at his eponymous Tribeca restaurant, Mr. Foy returned to New Jersey to serve diners at restaurants in Bay head, point Pleasant Beach and, most recently in Lambertville.

Now, with his wife and long-time partner, Estella Quinones-Foy, he has opened what might be considered the pinnacle of his 40-plus-year career in the kitchen: Café Loret, 128 Broad Street in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The menu at Café Loret features a select handful of Mr. Foy’s famous specialties, as well as a range of delicious creations drawn from New Jersey and Pennsylvania farm and market offers.

Cafe Loret - Dennis Foy ArtworkCafé Loret is BYOB; guests may bring their favorite bottles, or order from a local wine shop, which will deliver to their table. The restaurant is a warm, welcoming space, filled with life, color, texture, and art. Chef Foy has curated a selection from his own artwork to adorn the walls of his new restaurant. The space itself, inspired by mid-century architect Richard Neutra, and executed by Tree House Design and Glenn Fries and Associates, incorporates panoramic window treatment, clean sight lines, and modern interpretive ‘Sputnik” lighting. Dark Chocolate leather chairs and banquettes at the white-clothed tables harmonize with a dark-grained birch ceiling and room divider.

Cafe Loret - Outdoor PatioCafé Loret will be open for dinner Thursday through Sunday and will serve brunch on Sundays. The restaurant will seat 45 comfortably in its spacious main dining area and can host up to 20 in its private dining room. Café Loret will also have outside dining, accommodating 40 in its secluded patio.
