jefferson2Several months ago, one of my favorite dining haunts, restaurant Lemaire at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia, closed its doors. Needless to say, this was a major disappointment.

I just received word, however, that the new Lemaire is reopening today, July 8th. The restaurant will feature a new bar and lounge that will serve up an innovative selection of cocktails, wines, and small plates perfect for sharing. The menu has been inspired by Chef Walter Bundy’s “farm-to-table” philosophy and is characterized by accessibility that allows diners to explore flavors through its flexible format.

New décor throughout the restaurant gives a nod to the rich history of The Jefferson, but also provides a casual and welcoming atmosphere that is the perfect venue for an evening out during any night of the week. And the reduced pricing makes Lemaire a restaurant that is even more inviting.

Lemaire will provide daily dinner service from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., and cocktails and small plates in the lounge from 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 midnight.

If you’d like a glimpse at the gastronomic rewards that may be in store, be sure to check out my review of the old Lemaire.
