On Monday, November 26th, 6:45 p.m., restaurant Nicholas in Red Bank, New Jersey, will host a special dinner to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

While the restaurant remained unscathed by the hurricane, the Chef de Cuisine Nicholas Wilkins, Pastry Chef Kelly Kennedy, Captain Dominic Aviles, and Food Runner Jay Bitner lost everything – homes, clothes, belongings – in the storm.

Chef/proprietor Nicholas Harary and his wife, Melissa, are firm believers that charity begins at home. Therefore, in lieu of the annual anniversary dinner, the restaurant will be holding a five-course dinner with wine pairings to benefit these four individuals and their families. The restaurant’s food purveyors and members of the staff are donating their resources and time; and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to these four individuals.

This money will not change their lives, but it will go a long way to help them take the first steps of their new journey, Mr. Harary noted. He hopes that you will be able to join in this worthy cause.

I will post the menu for this special benefit dinner as soon as I receive it. In the meantime, for more information, or to make reservations, please call (732) 345-9977.

Bon Appétit!
