On Friday, April 19th, beginning at 6:00 p.m., Chef Jose Garces’ American bar and restaurant, Village Whiskey, located within Revel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, will host their first-ever “Whiskey School.”

The first seminar in this new series of whiskey tastings will be a “Scotch Class,” co-hosted by brand ambassadors of some of the bar’s Scotch whiskey selections, featuring tastings and bar snacks for $50.00 per person (plus tax & gratuity). The Scotch class is limited to 25 guests, so reservations are required.

“I’m fascinated by the process of distilling and aging whiskey, and our new Whiskey School class series is a terrific way for our guests to find out more about our favorite spirit,” notes Beverage Manager Carl Hartman, who will also co-host this event. “Scotch has a particularly rich history and tradition, which makes it a perfect choice for our first class.”

Taught in cooperation with Stephanie Ridgeway, a Highland Park ambassador, and Toni-Lynn Gross, a Macallan ambassador, Scotch Class will focus on Famous Grouse, High Park 15- and 18-year and Macallan 12-year scotches, including their history and tasting notes, plus pairings with Chef Garces’ acclaimed bar snacks. Guests will be able to interact with the ambassadors and Village Whiskey bartenders, learning more about these time-honored spirits and distinguishing them by aroma and taste.

At Village Whiskey, guests can enjoy a wealth of whiskeys and custom-crafted cocktails paired with American bar food. The retro-cool space features black and white tiled floors, high-backed, elevated banquette seating, marble tabletops, antiqued mirrors, white subway tiled walls, and a lengthy zinc bar, giving it the feel of a 1920s-era cocktail bar.

As one of the most comprehensive collections of its namesake spirit available in Atlantic City, Village Whiskey features a veritable library of more than 110 whiskeys, bourbons, ryes, and scotches from Scotland, Canada, Ireland, the United States, and even Japan. A carefully chosen list of wines and American craft beers is also available. A menu of Chef Garces’ bar snacks, house-made pickles, and tempting raw bar selections, as well as his famed burgers is also available.

Village Whiskey Atlantic City is open during the off-season Sunday, Monday, and Thursday from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m., and Friday & Saturday until midnight. Hours will expand in the summer.

For more information, or to make reservations for this first “Scotch Class,” please call (609) 225-9880.

Bon Appétit!
