Just in time for summer dining pleasures, Red Knot, the new contemporary American gastropub, has opened its doors in the handsome, just-completed clubhouse at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth, New Jersey.

“We’re coming into the season of bounty here in NJ, and I’m thrilled to be back home cooking and showcasing our amazing local produce and supplies,” notes Executive Chef Ralph Romano, a New Jersey native who resettled in Union County after a well-traveled culinary career.

Chef Roman’s accessible menu speaks enthusiastically of the season. Highlights include: Lioni Mozzarella Caprese Salad; Spring Pea Soup; Zucchini Pesto with Fresh Ricotta; Fish Tacos with Grilled Pineapple Salsa & Chipotle Aioli; Wood Oven Salmon with Baby Beets, Crispy Potatoes & Swiss Chard; and Grilled Skirt Steak with Hand-Cut Fries, Roasted Tomatoes & Chimichurri.

House-made desserts showcase such items as Strawberry-Rhubarb Cobbler with Buttermilk Ice Cream; the not-to-be-missed Brownie Sundae; and the incomparably delicious Beignets with Chocolate Ganache, Caramel Sauce & Raspberry Purée “Dunking” Sauces.

Signature cocktails have been creatively developed by Food & Beverage Director Richard Spaulding (formerly Ursino and 90 Acres) and include the Cocomojita, a classic mojito with a touch of coconut milk, and Garden Lemonade. Beer is seasonal as well, with custom ales from local breweries Cricket Hill in Fairfield and Climax in Roselle Park.

Family friendly and open seven days to golfers and spectators alike, the Red Knot is the perfect spot to enjoy well-crafted food and drink in a most congenial setting.

Bon Appétit!
